Accessories size guide

A cap is chosen by head circumference, socks by shoe size, a belt by waist circumference, and a watch by wrist circumference: four measurements that have nothing to do with each other, and nothing to do with clothing size. Most of our accessories come in one size or are adjustable. This guide explains what to measure, and when one size doesn't fit all.

What to measure, category by category

Casquettes et bonnets

Measure your head circumference with a soft measuring tape, one centimeter above your eyebrows and ears. Caps with adjustable straps, snapbacks, or metal loops cover 54 to 61 cm: that's the one size. Fitted models, without adjustment, should be taken to your exact head measurement. Wool or cotton beanies stretch and work across the entire range.

Chaussettes

Socks are chosen by shoe size, not clothing size. A single pair generally covers three to four shoe sizes. If you're on the high end of a size, take the next size up: a sock that's too short will slip down into your shoe after a few hours.

Sacs et sacs à dos

No size to choose, it's the volume that matters. A backpack of 20 to 25 liters holds a 15-inch laptop and a change of clothes, a crossbody bag or fanny pack sticks to the essentials. Check the shoulder strap length and adjustability instead, that's what determines high or low carry.

Ceintures

A belt is sized to your waist measured over your pants, not your body waist. The usual rule is to add 5 cm to your pants size. US sizes engraved on the buckle are in inches: 32 US corresponds to about 81 to 86 cm.

Montres

Measure your wrist circumference just below the bone. A wrist of 16 to 18 cm wears well with a case size of 38 to 42 mm, beyond 20 cm a case size of 45 mm remains proportional. Silicone and nylon bracelets adjust over several centimeters, steel bracelets sometimes require removing a link.

How to take your measurements

  1. Head circumference: wrap the tape one centimeter above your eyebrows and ears.
  2. Wrist circumference: wrap around your wrist just below the bone, without tightening.
  3. Waist circumference for a belt: measure over your pants, where you'll wear it.

No measuring tape? Use a strip of paper against a ruler for the same result.

Frequently asked questions

What size cap should I choose?

Take your head circumference with a soft measuring tape, one centimeter above your eyebrows. Between 54 and 57 cm, you're a S/M; between 58 and 61 cm, a L/XL. The vast majority of our caps are adjustable by strap or loop and cover this entire range: that's what we mean by one size. Only fitted models, without an adjustment system, require exact measurement.

Are all accessories one size?

Almost all. Adjustable caps, beanies, bucket hats, bags, and objects have no size to choose. Socks, belts, and some fitted beanies are the exception and should be chosen by shoe size, waist circumference, and head circumference respectively. Each product page indicates the expected measurement when there is one.

How do I choose my sock size?

By shoe size. A size M generally covers EU 39 to 42, a size L EU 43 to 46. If your shoe size falls on the boundary between two sizes, take the larger one: a sock that's too tight pulls on the heel and slips into your shoe. Tall models, tube or crew, are chosen the same way.

How do I measure my wrist for a watch?

Wrap a soft measuring tape or strip of paper around your wrist just below the bone, without squeezing. Enter the value in the chart: it gives you the case diameter that remains proportional. A case that's too large will overhang your wrist and tilt, a case that's too small gets lost under your sleeve. Also check the bracelet length, it's indicated on the product page.

Can I return an accessory that doesn't fit me?

Yes, within 14 days, new and unworn, with its tags. Two hygiene-related exceptions: socks and underwear are not accepted once the seal is opened. Caps, beanies, bags, belts, sunglasses, and watches follow the general rule. Details are in our FAQ.
