The ASICS Gel-Kayano 12.1 Up There Natsukashii Glacier Grey is the result of a collaboration between ASICS and Australian retailer Up There. The name "Natsukashii," a Japanese term evoking nostalgia, reflects the intention behind this project: to revisit the heritage of the Gel-Kayano, a silhouette originally developed for marathon running. The dual GEL™ technology and FLUIDRIDE™ cushioning structure form the technical foundation of this model.
The "Glacier Grey" colorway plays with cool, desaturated tones, featuring icy greys that dress the entire upper. Layered materials—technical mesh and synthetic overlays—create a subtle and refined visual depth. This chromatic treatment recalls the Gel-Kayano 14 White Graphite Grey, with a similar monochrome approach.
This collaboration continues Up There's work exploring ASICS running archives, offering a contemporary take on technical silhouettes from the 2000s.
